The NetWorked Community Solutions Grant creates a pathway for organizations from different sectors to work together. Here are a few steps to getting started to work together:
Select organizations that you believe share similar core values, even if working in different sectors: Core values may be reflected in similar missions, visions, service approaches and target populations.
Hold a preliminary conversation to explore the opportunity to work together.
If agreement to work together is shared among all parties, form the project team.
Hold a planning meeting to identify a common agenda within the selected impact area and project type.
Assign roles - Lead Applicant, Project Coordinator, Reporter and other roles.
Craft a work plan that outlines the project activity with key dates, milestones and objectives. Use the grant application to guide discussion and planning.
Establish work group commitments and rules of engagement (i.e. start on time, end on time; all ideas welcome during brainstorming; don't miss deadlines, etc.)
With decisions made on plans, write and submit the grant application.
Collaborative work is guided by commitments to build rapport and to meet commitments together. We encourage you to reply with other resources that have been effective in your experience to build team!
